Bosnia, Kosova and the West
The Yugoslav Tragedy: A Marxist View

Mike Karadjis
Published by Resistance Books
2000, 256pp, ISBN 1876646055, Paperback
$24.95

This book is a Marxist analysis of the breakup of Yugoslavia, in particular the wars in Bosnia and Kosova. Mike Karadjis shows the fundamental agreement between the Western powers and the former Milosevic regime during these conflicts. In a sustained and hard-hitting polemic he takes issue with those mainstream and left writers who accepted all or part of the West's propaganda designed to mask its real intentions. He shows that in neither Bosnia nor Kosova has NATO ever been motivated by concern for human rights but solely by its need to maintain Western control in an economically and politically vital region. These imperatives remain despite the change of regime in Belgrade.
