Cuba: How the Workers & Peasants Made the Revolution

This short account of the history of the Cuban Revolution, both before and after the historic seizure of power in January 1959, concentrates on the role of the Cuban people in this process. Right from the start this was a broad-based movement, with deep roots among the masses, and a long and heroic history. The guerrillas in the mountains during the anti-Batista struggle could only have triumphed because they were the vanguard of a mass movement in the cities and towns as well as the countryside.
